The subcontinent’s superpower Sri Lanka will visit Bangladesh next May. The team that has won one World Cup in two formats, however, will play two Tests in Bangladesh tour this time.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), the organizer of the two-match Test series between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, announced the final schedule of the series on Thursday (March 31) evening. Both Tests of the series are part of the ICC Test Championship.
The first match of the series will be played at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong, known as ‘Sagarika’, which will start on 15 May. At the end of this match, the two teams will move to the capital Dhaka. The second and final Test of the two-match series will be played on May 23 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, the home of cricket.
The Lankans will play a warm-up match before the start of the series. The two-day warm-up match will be played on May 11 and 12 at the MA Aziz Stadium in Chittagong. The 6-match Sri Lankan national team is scheduled to set foot in Bangladesh for this series.
