Australia interested in hosting India-Pakistan series

Cricket Australia (CA) chief executive Nick Hawkley has said that Australia would welcome a tri-nation series involving India and Pakistan.

India and Pakistan have been playing cricket together only in ICC and ACC events since 2013.

Recently, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja said he would propose a four-nation series to the ICC. Dividends from the tournament will be shared by all ICC members on a percentage basis.

But the BCCI did not show any interest in it. Secretary Joy Shah said the World Cricket Council should expand the game, which is more important than taking “short-term commercial steps”.

This time, the CA said, the match between the two teams is something that everyone wants to see in world cricket.

Hawkley said his board has not yet discussed the proposal. But when the opportunity arises to organize a tri-national series between the two countries, they will take the leap.

“Personally, I really like the idea of a tri-series,” the Cricket Australia official told reporters in Rawalpindi. It worked well in the past too. We will agree to host these matches. Australia is home to a large portion of both India and Pakistan. It’s a fight that everyone in world cricket wants to see. We would be happy if we could take advantage of this opportunity. ”

Incidentally, India and Pakistan will face each other in the Super Twelve in this year’s T20 World Cup in Australia. The match will be on October 23. Pakistan beat India by 10 wickets in their first match last season.
